Rohit Mehta, M.D., FACC, FHRS Cardiac Electrophysiologist Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute Rohit Mehta, M.D., FACC, FHRS is a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, NC. He then returned home to Arkansas where he completed his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He then went on to Columbus, OH and The Ohio State University where he trained in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and then in Cardiac Electrophysiology. He served as Chief Cardiovascular Fellow in 2006. He is board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Diseases. He joined Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute in 2008 with expertise in laser lead extraction (removal), complex cardiac device implantation, complex cardiac ablation, and large-scale data management. He served as medical director for cardiac electrophysiology from 2012-2016. He serves as a reviewer for Heart Rhythm journal and Pacing and Cardiovascular Electrophysiology journal. Within the Heart Rhythm Society, he serves as a member of the Quality Improvement subcommittee and a member of the Health Policy Committee. He has served as a course director and steering committee member for “Day1” a program designed to teach electrophysiology fellows about transitioning to clinical practice. His clinical passion has been and remains sudden cardiac arrest- with a focus on innovative care delivery, risk prediction and CPR awareness. He serves on the board of directors for the Omar Carter Foundation- serving as co-chairman since its inception in 2014. He has also served on the board of the American Heart Association in Charlotte since 2015- and recently finished his term as board President in 2019. Byron's South End 101 W.
